Description
The Glow Pad is a round light-up sensory board, 45 cm across, designed with autistic and ADHD kids in mind. It has 8 touch spots that light up in colour when they're touched, so there's always something to touch, watch and control.
Use it on a table, the floor or a bed, or hang it on the wall. It's rechargeable, so it plays cordless. It's a screen-free option for sensory play, with a grown-up nearby.
Pre-order: dispatches by 1 December. Free tracked UK delivery and a 30-night play trial.
Features
- Lights up under every touch: 8 spots (7 round the edge, 1 in the middle) light up as bright rings of coloured LEDs.
- Colour-changing glow: colour glows through the whole milky-white disc.
- Rechargeable: charge it up, then play with no cables, on the table, the floor or a bed.
- Hang it up: hooks on the back for the wall.
- Big enough to share: 45 cm across, so two can play at once.
- Screen-free: nothing to scroll, no ads, no autoplay.

- Don't stand, sit or jump on the Glow Pad.
- Charge it yourself, on a hard, dry surface, out of children's reach.
- Keep it dry, and switch it off with the switch underneath when play's over.
- Switch it off and take it out of the bed at lights-out.
- On the wall: use fixings made for your wall, hang it where they can reach without climbing, and test it's still firm from time to time.
- Stop using it if the casing is cracked or damaged.

If this is your house
You're not a bad mum. You just ran out of things to try.
They flick the light switch on and off and press every button they can find. They want light, colour and something that answers their touch, and right now the screen is the only thing that does all three.
-
The iPad is the only thing that works, and I hate myself for it.
A glow they make themselves, so there's something to hand them that isn't a screen.
-
Every toy gets ignored, thrown or broken. I've stopped buying them.
Built around what they already love: lights, pressing things, watching colour change.
-
Family say they're spoilt, or too old for anything that lights up.
A plain white disc. No cartoons, no age on it, nothing to apologise for.
-
They play next to me, never with me. I don't know how to get in.
They press, you press, the colour answers. A game you play on their terms, side by side.
How it works

-
Charge it
Rechargeable, so no cable while they play.

What the research says
Where it sits next to what you've already tried
No judgement: on a hard sensory day, a screen is sometimes what gets everyone through. But UK guidance for 2–5s is no more than 1 hour of screens a day, and none at mealtimes. Here's how the glowing options compare.
2 hrs+
a day on screens for the average 2-year-old in England: double the 1-hour guideline.
36%
of 2–5-year-olds worldwide stay within the 1-hour screen guideline. You're far from the only one.

Our story
Some kids can't leave the light switch alone. So we gave them a glow of their own.
We're Glow Trail, a small family-run UK business. We started with glowing stepping stones, and over a thousand families have them at home now. The Glow Pad is for the evening you probably know: the toys they've walked away from, the iPad that's the only thing that works, and the guilt that comes with handing it over. It's a light they make with their own hands, and a disc you can sit down and press with them.

Questions
What's in the box?
- 1 Glow Pad: the Glow Pad and a charging cable.
- 2 Glow Pads: everything above, twice, plus a free Glow Tile (1 flat liquid-gel sensory tile).
Will they actually play with it?
We can't promise that, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can say is that it's built around what light-seeking kids already do: pressing, watching colour change, doing it again. Nothing happens until they touch it, so they're in charge. If they ignore it, the 30-night play trial is there for exactly that.
Is it safe?
Here's what we can tell you honestly. It's one flat disc of frosted white plastic, 45 cm across and about 5 cm thick. There's no glass, no water, no screen. The 8 touch spots sit flush with the surface, so there are no buttons sticking out. It's rechargeable, so there's no cable while they play. Use it with a grown-up nearby.
Does it flash? My child has epilepsy.
We won't guess at this one. If flashing or changing light is a concern for your child, please email support@theglowtrail.com before you order, and we'll tell you exactly what it does so you can decide.
When will it arrive?
It's a pre-order. We dispatch by 1 December, then it's free tracked UK delivery in 2–5 working days, so it arrives before Christmas. You'll get a tracking link the moment it leaves us.
What if it's not right for them?
Then send it back. You've got 30 nights to play with it. If it isn't right for your child, return it for a full refund. You pay the return postage unless it's faulty. Just email support@theglowtrail.com and we'll sort it.
Do I need batteries?
No. It's rechargeable, so you charge it up and then there's no cable while they play. It can go on the floor, a table or the wall without trailing anything.
Is it a baby toy? They're 9.
It's a plain white disc with coloured light. No cartoons, no characters, no age printed on it. Kids who love lights at 4 tend to still love them at 9, and we don't think that's something to grow out of.
I've never heard of you, and there are no reviews. Is this a real shop?
Fair question. Glow Trail is a small family-run UK business, and over 1,000 customers have bought our glowing stepping stones. The Glow Pad is brand new, so it has no reviews yet, and we won't make any up. Tracked delivery, a 30-night trial, and a real inbox at support@theglowtrail.com.
